Your profile
Your profile is your personal identity inside the Hydra workspace. Your display name and photo appear next to every reply you send — both internally to teammates in the inbox, and externally to customers in the chat widget.
Open it from the user menu pinned at the bottom of the left sidebar — click your name, then Profile.
Display name
This is what customers see when you reply on a chat. Use whatever you want them to see — your real name, a first name only, or a team handle.
The first time you sign in, your display name is auto-filled from your email (so morgan.lee@acme.com becomes "Morgan Lee"). You can change it anytime; the change is immediate everywhere — in the inbox, in the widget, in the audit log, and in @mentions.
Profile photo
Upload a JPEG, PNG, or WebP. Hydra resizes it to a 512 × 512 square in your browser before uploading, so even a high-resolution phone photo arrives fast.
The photo appears:
- Next to your replies in the inbox thread
- Next to your replies in the chat widget on the customer's screen — so customers see a real person, not a generic avatar
- Next to your name in the user menu
If you haven't uploaded a photo, Hydra renders a colored circle with your initials as a fallback. Customers see the same fallback — there's never a broken-image placeholder.
To replace your photo, click Replace photo and pick a new one. To remove it without uploading a replacement, click Remove.
Signing out
Click the user menu (your name + photo at the bottom of the sidebar) and click Sign out. You're returned to the login screen and your session cookies are cleared.
If you have multiple teammates sharing a workstation, signing out is the right move — Hydra ties every reply, every audit-log entry, and every @mention to the signed-in admin's identity.
What this isn't
- It's not a public profile. Your name and photo only show inside your tenant — they're not searchable or visible to anyone outside your team and your customers.
- It's not your account login. Your email and password are managed under Settings → Security.
- It's not your tenant settings. Workspace-wide settings (brand color, business hours, billing) live under the regular Settings menu — your profile is just for you.
Where else your photo shows up
Anywhere a teammate is identified by name in the dashboard:
- Inbox — to the right of every reply you send
- Chat widget — to the left of every reply, on the customer's screen
- User menu — at the bottom of the sidebar
- @mentions in internal notes (just the name and circle, not the full photo, to stay compact)
If a teammate hasn't uploaded a photo yet, the colored-letter circle appears instead. Once they upload, it updates everywhere on the next page load — there's no global cache to bust.
